Introducing MCPS Veterinary Social Work
Compassionate support at the intersection of human and animal well-being
Mission Statement
Our mission is to advance equity, connection, and compassion in veterinary medicine by offering healing-centered social work support to veterinary teams, clients, and communities—focused on access to care, team wellness, and student development.
About MCPS
MCPS is a nonprofit consulting practice led by a Veterinary Social Worker with experience in emergency and specialty veterinary care, as well as clinical, educational, and community-based social work.
M. Cristina P. Soresca (MCPS) is a Veterinary Social Worker in the Bay Area, CA. She supports clients and families through grief, pet loss, quality-of-life decisions, and case management, while promoting staff wellness and team culture in a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital. Cristina also partners with a mobile nonprofit clinic focused on equitable access to care, supervises undergraduate and master’s-level students in Public Health and Social Work, and leads workshops on compassion fatigue, moral injury, and resilience in veterinary medicine.

Client Care, Staff Wellness, and Organizational Health
At MCPS Veterinary Social Work, we provide compassionate, expert consulting at the critical intersection of human and animal well-being. Our mission is to support veterinary professionals, pet guardians, and animal care organizations in navigating the emotional, ethical, and relational complexities of veterinary medicine.

At MCPS Veterinary Social Work, we’re committed to providing personalized guidance that connects clients, veterinary teams, and organizations with the support best suited to their unique needs. We go beyond a one-size-fits-all approach by offering tailored solutions that address the specific challenges faced by each group—whether it’s grief support for families, wellness strategies for staff, organizational consulting, or connecting families to community resources to increase access to equitable care within veterinary services.
